Special Drawing Sessions
Special drawing sessions can be scheduled any time the drawing room is not already booked. A special session might have multiple models (a couple, for example), a model with props or costume, a model with a live snake....
There are no special sessions currently scheduled.
Who We Are
Joyce Jonte and Steven Vander Meer pretty much keep the drawing circle organized and happening, but we couldn't do it without all of the artists who show up, including...
Amber Smith, Anayansi Ricketts, Betsy Roberts, Bob Burroughs, Bob Hayes, Cathy Warnock, Doug Sievers, Erin Hamilton, Forest Stearns, Gerald Kindsfather, Iris Schencke, James Moore, Jo Anderson, Joanne Dozelencic, Libby George, Lindsey Holm, Nate Luna, Patricia Sennott, Ray Jones, Rick Tolly, Sara Starr, Susan Needham, Suza Lambert, Suzanne Simpson, Ted Larson, Thao LeKhac
Model
People ask us all the time "how do I become an artist's model?". Here are some web sites that answer questions about nude modeling better than I could. Be sure to read the first one in it's entirety before contacting us.
- How to Become An Artist's Model
- Questions and Answers
- R.A.M. (ugly, but informative site)
- R.A.M. Guidelines for life models & employers
- Wikipedia: Art Modeling
- Lots and lots of links
We are always looking for new forms of inspiration. When you contact us, the first thing we generally do is set up a practice session. This is for you to see the working environment, and meet the artists in charge of open sessions; it's also for us to see if you might be a good model (and especially to see if you show up when you say you will). Previous modelling experience is not needed, and in fact can sometimes be a hindrance to self-expression. A typical practice session is with two artists (male and female) and the model can be nude, semi-nude or clothed, depending on your comfort level. Completing a practice session does not obligate you to model again, nor does it guarantee that you will be hired to model again.
